You can create interesting paint splatter designs but you can also use macros to record projections / layers / rasterization and effects to re-apply those over and over to additional paint splatter brush layers (with transparency)
The key thing is to create an initial layer of basic paint splatters brush strokes in a variety of colours in Affinity Photo. You can then record a macro of duplicate layer / projections (live) and combine with blending modes and effects such as bevels and shadows. The layer can be moved and rotated etc and then rasterized and effects added such as deform. You can then combine the multiple layers in millions of ways to create 1000s of unique designs (all based on the source material in Affinity Photo)
